Shortcut to fame....

Camcorder focused on a groupWhether you simply want to get noticed, get into acting, become famous or help other people we think we have a shortcut to fame, all you need is some talent, well OK lots of talent....a camcorder...and a PC...but that’s it.

YouTube, www.YouTube.com is fast becoming the place to showcase your talent. In case you don’t know what YouTube is.....

Let me explain how it works;

• You create an account

• Get a video recorder, you can even use your mobile phone if you have nothing else.

• Then create a video, it can be virtually anything ranging from, tutorials, singing, dancing comedy and so on

• Upload the video

• People watch it (OK maybe that part was obvious)

Generally your video can be about anything as long as it confirms to YouTube rules, at the moment video blogging is very popular, tutorials on popular applications such as PhotoShop and Microsoft Word are also very popular, these are usually done by people as a cheap way of attracting interest in their business. Also very popular are beauty videos, usually done by wannabe make up artists to show off their talent to would be employers.

Once people start watching you videos, if they like it they will subscribe to it, which means that they will get an email message every time you upload a new video.

If you get really popular and start to get millions of views per video, chances are that some big-wig from a big company will want to pay you mega bucks for your talent. So far people that have got famous from YouTube have gone on to have their own record deals, received jobs with big name companies, been flown around the world to speak about the power of the internet, received tonnes of freebies, made thousands from advertising. The list of possibilities is endless.

It’s not just your average Joe (or Jane) using YouTube, there are shows from major networks such as the Channel 4 or Channel Five, music videos from the major music houses, fashion updates from the likes of Elle and Vogue.

Of course if you are not into creating videos, YouTube is still the place to be with thousand of shows, lectures, how to videos, video blogs, training courses, you are bound to find something on it that will be of interest or help.
